Short Biography
Val began her career in the Library when she was a college student. She first worked for the Model Secondary School for the Deaf's library and the Gallaudet University Library as a part-time circulation assistant for several years. Shortly after graduation, she worked full-time as Circulation Manager Assistant at Kendall Demonstration Elementary School for the "World Around You," a deaf youth magazine. Val joined the Gallaudet University Library staff full-time in 1985. Her responsibilities involve ordering and collecting library periodicals-- both general and deaf-related-- modifying periodical holdings, ordering books and other Deaf-related materials, and assisting with projections for periodical expenditures.
