Short Biography
Mr. Phipps was born and raised in Long Island, New York. He knew he wanted to become a teacher during fourth grade and it also helped that most of the members in his family are in the teaching field. Mark entered Gallaudet University in the year 2004 as a student and a math tutor until 2007. He started his career as a Mathematics Teacher at Model Secondary School for the Deaf during August 2007 to July 2012.
As a Faculty member at Gallaudet University, Mark teach Mathematics, General Studies Requirement 104: Quantitative reasoning, and also PST751: Praxis 1: Mathematics for the Center of Continuing Studies.
RESEARCH INTERESTS:
Developing a bridge, in mathematics, for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students from high school to college.
