Health Insurance
Health insurance for regular status employees is offered through the Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) program. FEHB offers a variety of health insurance plans, including fee-for-service and HMOs. The cost is shared by the employee and Gallaudet University.
Employees can enroll, change, or cancel their health insurance plans during Open Season. However, certain changes are allowed outside of Open Season if employees experience qualifying life events. In order to make any changes, please fill out the FEHB Enrollment form (SF-2809) and submit it to the Benefits Specialist.
For more detailed information about the health insurance plans under FEHB, please visit U.S. Office of Personnel Management.
