Educational Planning Office
The Educational Planning Office (EPO) coordinates a broad range of services for MSSD students. Throughout the year, EPO staff members provide workshops, training, and one-on-one support to students, parents, and school personnel. Services include:
- Educational Planning: Facilitation of students' Individualized Education Program (IEP) process, including leading IEP meetings; academic progress monitoring; works with transition services to coordinate individual postsecondary planning for students
- Counseling: Individual and group counseling services; school-wide prevention programs; training and workshops for students and school personnel
- Transition Planning: A semester-long internship program required of all seniors; Extended Work Experience for students who remain at MSSD after satisfying academic credit requirements as part of their IEP transition plan; school-wide transition-related services such as College & Career Fairs
- Psycho-educational Testing: Testing in the areas of cognitive, socio-emotional, academic, and behavior development
- Testing and Evaluation: Assistance for students registering for college tests (ACT, SAT); registration and administration of Advanced Placement exams; coordination of testing accommodations as outlined in students' IEPs; explanations of test results to students and school personnel
Additional services coordinated through the EPO include:
- Social work services
- Audiology and speech-language services
