Math Placement Test
The Math Placement Test (MPT), which measures your ability to compute college algebra and quantitative reasoning questions, corresponds to Gallaudet’s curricula for the General Studies course on Quantitative Reasoning Approach (GSR 104). Since the GSR course addresses quantitative reasoning and the application of mathematical concepts and skills to solve real-world problems, you must become competent in reading and using quantitative data, in addition to understanding quantitative evidence and applying basic quantitative skills. As a result, ACT scores, MPT scores, and English Placement Test scores are reliable predictors of your ability to succeed in GSR 104 and will specifically indicate whether you need to take the Pre-College Mathematics (MAT 040) course prior to taking GSR 104.
