RESOLUTION #3

To be presented to the University Faculty meeting,

on March 9, 1988 by

RESOLUTION TO THE INDIVIDUAL MEMBERS OF THE UNIVERSITY FACULTY

FROM THE UNIVERSITY FACULTY

THE GALLAUDET UNIVERSITY FACULTY REQUESTS OF ITS INDIVIDUAL

MEMBERS THAT THEY NOT PENALIZE STUDENTS INDIVIDUALLY OR

COLLECTIVELY FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION IN THE ACTIVITIES

ASSOCIATED WITH THE SELECTION OF THE SEVENTH PRESIDENT OF

GALLAUDET UNIVERSITY. SPECIFICALLY, WE REQUEST OF OUR

MEMBERS THAT THEY MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO ASSIST THE STUDENTS

IN THEIR CLASSES TO COMPLETE THE NECESSARY WORK OF THE

SEMESTER. THIS MAY MEAN HAVING EXTRA CLASS MEETINGS,

SCHEDULING SPECIAL TUTORIAL SESSIONS, OR WHATEVER.

IT IS UNDERSTOOD THAT THE ABOVE MAY REPRESENT AN ADDED

BURDEN ON BOTH STUDENTS AND FACULTY. HOWEVER, THE

UNIVERSITY FACULTY BELIEVES IN THE JUSTICE OF THE DEMANDS

PRESENTED AND THEREFORE REQUESTS THE COOPERATION OF ITS

MEMBERS.
