Similar to the TV show “Shark Tank,” Alumni BisonTank will feature several alumni business owners competing for cash prizes to elevate their business to the next level! They will deliver a three-minute business pitch to a group of judges. The competition will be hybrid, which means it will take place in person and virtually!
When politics takes center stage, laughter is reported to be the most effective remedy. Join the Center for Democracy in Deaf America’s debate team for a lively evening filled with drinks, fun, and even a bit of contemplation. This event will showcase stand-up and improv comedy, featuring the wit and humor of students from the Gallaudet debate team, alumni, and the audience – all with a political twist!

This presentation will be a brief discussion on the trailblazing educators who taught at the segregated schools for the deaf in the South. The presentation will discuss what role the university had in inspiring or preparing these educators in the late 1800s to the first 6 decades of the 20th century.
Gallaudet takes pride in honoring the legacy, courage, and vision of Louise B. Miller. Her actions in the lawsuit, Miller v. D.C. Board of Education, trail-blazed a path for educational justice and set the precedent for Brown v. Board of Education.
You’re never too cool for school! Turn your brains on and test your knowledge of Gallaudet’s history by participating in a fun and lively game of trivia with our emcee Darrius Doe ’18!
Dimensions is an 18-minute film created using motion capture, featuring renowned deaf actors and cutting-edge animation technologies. The main protagonist is Zoe, a Deaf woman, who is being interviewed about mysterious events pertaining to her mother’s disappearance when she was a child. Through Zoe’s stories, the interviewer unravels her ancestry and tries to find answers. This is the first episode of what is hopefully many. Dimensions was created by Motion Light Lab, a research and development lab housed in Visual Language and Visual Learning (VL2) Center. The Lab was awarded Best in 2D/3D Animations for Dimensions at the 2022 Clin D’Oeil Festival in Reims, France. Dimensions is funded in part by Sorenson Communications
