Short Biography

Cheryl Wu is first generation American born Chinese. She graduated with her MA in Mental Health Counseling from Gallaudet University and completed her doctorate in clinical psychology with a multicultural and community emphasis at the California School of Professional Psychology-Alameda, CA in 2002. She is co-founder of Cultural Intersections in Oakland, CA, a non-profit community based program that offers diversity training and consultation to educational institutions and community service organizations and providers as well as support and advocacy services to multicultural deaf/hard of hearing children, youth, young adults, and their families. She is a Professor in the Department of Counseling at Gallaudet University in Washington, DC since the fall of 2004. A licensed clinical psychologist, she has worked directly with multicultural deaf and hard of hearing children, youth, and their families for over 26 years in mental health, educational, and community-based settings.
