Short Biography

Brittany Palmer has been a Clinical Educator/Supervising Speech Language Pathologist within the Department of Hearing, Speech, and Language Sciences at Gallaudet University since 2013. She attended Georgia State University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a Master of Education in Communication Disorders. During her graduate work, Brittany developed a special interest in voice and swallowing disorders and worked in voice clinics including Emory Voice Center and Evelyn Trammell Voice and Swallowing Center in Atlanta, GA. Brittany completed her fellowship at a voice center in Columbus, OH, where she worked for five years before coming to Gallaudet.

Brittany currently supervises all areas of communication disorders with an emphasis on voice, swallowing and motor speech disorders. She is currently involved in research using voice therapy in post-Cochlear Implant adults. In addition, Brittany teaches the Clinical Procedures class to first-year SLP graduate students and sits on several committees.


Voice therapy including Lee Silverman Voice Therapy, Resonant Voice therapy, Circumlaryngeal massage, Pre- & post- vocal surgery/Botox therapy; Swallowing therapy after stroke or head & neck cancer.
