Gallaudet University offers merit-based scholarships to deaf and hard of hearing students who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and whose scholastic and personal achievements are exemplary. You will automatically be considered for merit-based scholarships at the time of your admission. To be considered for the President's Distinguished Honors Scholarship or the President's Honors Scholarship, you must be admitted to Gallaudet University by February 15th. The Provost's Excellence, Dean's Prestige, and Academic Recognition scholarships are awarded on a rolling basis.

All scholarships are based on academic ability only. ACT or SAT test scores and GPA scores will be ranked from highest to lowest for scholarship review. Scholarship winners will then be notified by the Office of Admissions. Timely responses to offers of admission, and of merit-based scholarship awards, are important because of the limited number of available merit-based scholarships.
